mystic wisdom

Mystic wisdom is said to connect us with the infinite wonders and mysteries of existence. For me, it has offered a doorway into my bone-knowing, and a path of reverent relationship with spirit and earth. As I have deepened into my exploration of mystic wonders, the trees and bones have brought their poetry through me. The well, compassionate, and wise ancestors have revealed themselves to guide my voice and sing with me. There is a word for those who commune in the way that I do, we walk an old path, the path of the Awenydd or of the Taibhsear. The mystic wisdom I explore has been deeply informed by mythic wisdom which is beautifully articulated by Dr. Sharon Blackie, “Myths and fairy tales are so much more than stories: they’re living principles, deeply enmeshed in our lives and the life of this beautiful, animate Earth. And in the uncertain times we live in, we need their wild wisdom more than ever. They illuminate who we are, who we might become, and help us discover the unique gift that each of us brings to the unceasing becoming of the world.”

REVERENT ecology

Known inherently to traditional cultures who lived in harmony with the natural world, ‘deep ecology’ is a term used to describe those who understand the dynamic unity of reality, that is the oneness of all life. As an animist who supported my ‘unity knowing’ with academic studies in environmental law and environmental science, I have spoken extensively for the last 25 years on the topic. The story that flows through me weaves the intersections, reflections, and intimate inseparability of the human species with all others; in hopes that through the reverent recognition of our our deep oneness that life-giving, life-affirming, ecologically respectful choices can be made, birthing spiritual and ecological resurrections by both the individual and as such, the collective. I call this reverent ecology.

tradition of the wise woman

I walk the path of the wise woman tradition, a path of integrity, steeped in intuition, connection, reverence, and remembering. Beautifully articulated by Susun Weed, “The Wise Woman Tradition is the oldest tradition of healing known on our planet, yet one that is rarely identified, rarely written or talked about. A woman-centered tradition of self-love, respectful of the earth and all her creatures, the Wise Woman Tradition tells us that compassion, simple ritual and common herbs heal the whole person and maintain health/wholeness/holiness.”

CODE OF PRACTICE

In honor of the ancestors, in service of the descendants, I seek to:

  1. Honor the great inter-connectivity of all things.

  2. Reverently acknowledge that all things are inspirited be they animal, mineral, plant, or element.

  3. Apprentice to the radiant wisdom of the Earth and the sacred voice of Spirit.

  4. Listen to the wisdom of the human body as a sacred vessel and a partner to be cherished as we experience this human life.

  5. Walk the Path of Integrity - paved with empathy it is a sovereign path of authenticity and self ownership, wrapped in honor that seeks to heal and never harm.

  6. Have courage.

a loving Invitation
